Description

We are currently looking for an assistant to support us with bookkeeping and financial accounting.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, reliable, organized, and dedicated to community development. 

The purpose of this role is to provide administrative support to the team in the accounting department.

Qualifications, Requirements, and Eligibility

  • Strong organizational skills
  • Adept with Google Suite and Quikbooks
  • Financial confidentiality
  • Ability and willingness to work effectively within required timeframes
  • Basic comprehension of budgeting and payroll

Additional assets

  • Note-taking skills
  • Preferably bilingual (French and English) or willing to learn
  • Prior experience working with community organizations

GENERAL FUNCTIONS

  • Deposit incoming money into the bank (sales/services, donations, rent sub-lease, loans) and booking in QuickBooks
  • Paying rent
  • Processing payroll
  • Booking expenses in QuickBooks (bank charges, rent, invoices, etc), processing payments 
  • Matching bank transactions with QuickBooks, writing descriptions, saving everything on the drive.
  • CNESST, rev Quebec, rev Canada remittance
  • Perform other related duties as requested by the immediate supervisor

Grantwriter

Description

We are currently looking for a grant-writer to support our financial committee, which is a subgroup of the board, tasked with overseeing the financial sustainability of Grow Still, targeting the diversification and increase of revenue. 

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, reliable, organized, and experienced with finding and applying for grants and subsidies. 

The purpose of this role is to secure funding for the organization.

GENERAL FUNCTIONS

  • Monitor proposals and funding application requirements, including content, delivery method deadlines, and eligibility for grant
  • Prepare proposals by determining concepts, gathering and formatting information, writing drafts
  • Work with internal teams to compile required documentation & prepare complete grant proposal applications
  • Support approved grants with proper documentation and record keeping.
  • Participate in monthly financial committee meetings, report progress

The role of Vice-President is currently open. We meet every 6-8 weeks on Thursday evenings.

We have Financial and HR committees you can join as well, which are sub-groups tasked with supporting the Board, but you can sit on the committee without being a Board Member.

Grow Still (Grandir Encore)  is a not-for-profit Support & Resource Centre for Emerging Adults. Founded in 2019, our work has benefited a small but growing community, which we wish to expand. Our services include individual peer support, group workshops, and discussion circles open to the general public.
