CHAYA
OFFICE & PROGRAM COORDINATOR
My name is Chaya and I'm a youth mental health worker, disability rights advocate, and cross-disciplinary artist. I have been working directly with youth and emerging adults in crisis intervention and psychological harm reduction since 2018, but also have experience working in labour union organization and community management. I have a Bachelor's Degree with a Specialization in Psychology, as well as an Associate's Degree in Group Studies.
I'm particularly passionate about the intersection of mental health and physical wellbeing. As someone who lives with a lifelong disability, I first joined Grow Still in 2021 to participate in a sharing session about thriving with chronic illness. In the years since, I've had the pleausre of representing Grow Still at several community events. Now, I'm serving as the organization's Office Coordinator, as well as our Program Coordinator - I'm working hard to bring you incredible workshops and programming!
As young people, we are living in unprecedented times. It's become increasingly difficult to sift through so many distractions in order prioritize our wellbeing, our growth, and our communities. I'm excited to work with emerging adults across Montreal as we lift each other up and build the future we collectively deserve.
When I'm not at work, you can find me making vegetarian sushi, reading in the park, taking pictures of plants, and building creative web projects.
